Gift Acceptance Policy

We are committed to staying within the scope of our mission.

Restrictions on Gifts

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue. Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the organization.

With the exception of donations of cash and cash equivalents, all other gifts, including but not limited to, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, publicly-traded securities, cryptoassets and other forms of digital assets, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent, or whose use is restricted in some manner, will be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised, or liabilities they may pose, for Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue.

Donation Of Used Items

Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue no longer accepts used items of any type due to health and safety concerns. If you are able to give, please consider supporting our mission with donations from our Amazon Wish List or Chewy Wish List.

Use of Legal Counsel

Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue will seek the advice of legal counsel in matters relating to acceptance of gifts when appropriate.

Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

Donor Intent

Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue will restrict information about the donor to only those volunteers with a need to know.

Compensation

Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders’ fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue.
