“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
– Karen Davison (Author of A Dog’s Guide to Humans)

Our application process at a glance
1. Application;
2. Vet check;
3. Personal references; and
4. Home Visit
The process to adopt, foster, or volunteer is identical. All steps outlined above are required for approval. If you are looking for a fast turnaround, our rescue may not be the right fit for you since our adoption process is involved.
It is not necessary to apply for a specific dog to be approved to adopt from our group. In fact, we encourage potential adopters to apply at any time to be pre-approved so that they are ready when a Shih Tzu or Lhasa Apso or any of our other dogs they might be interested in becomes available. When newly approved, an applicant may ask to be matched to the most compatible dog for a period of one year from approval date. Past adopters in good standing are not required to reapply.
We adopt within the continental US, subject to prevailing state laws for the import of dogs. We offer free (in cabin) air and road transport to most adopters. Alternatively, adopters may pick up a dog from our rescue directly.
